The idea for settling the name dispute in several phases, presented by Democratic Union's leader Pavle Trajanov, is fully unacceptable for Greece, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski told reporters on Thursday.
- Trajanov's proposal is probably well-intended and I am welcoming it, but considering the talks I have had thus far with the other side - Greece, it is completely unacceptable and (the country's officials) refuse to discuss it, Gruevski said.
The name row will however be a subject of discussion of the PM and NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen at their meeting in Brussels, scheduled for tomorrow.
- I expect for the meeting to address the problem, offer me a possibility to elaborate our and the position of the other party - the problems we have been facing - so that he, who has taken the office recently, could understand the situation better, Gruevski said.
At the meeting, Gruevski will also reaffirm Macedonia's commitment to the name row settlement, NATO membership and further participation in the Alliance-led missions.
