Bank of Albania sold 10.4 billion leke (84.4 million euros, 107 million USD) in 12- and three-month treasury bills on December 2.

Bank of Albania sold 10.4 billion leke (84.4 million euros, 107 million USD) in 12- and three-month treasury bills on December 2.

The 12-month securities totaled 5.1 billion leke (41.4 million euros, 52.4 million USD) and mature on December 3, 2009. The three-month paper brought 5.3 billion leke (43 million euros, 54.5 million USD) and matures on March 5, 2009.

For 12-month T-bills, the average weighted yield was 8.46%, rising from 8.24% at the last auction, and the maximum yield 8.59%, up from 8.39%. For three-month securities, the average yield was 6.19%, down from 6.22%, and the maximum yield 6.28%, up from 6.2%.

The country’s central bank auctions leke-denominated three-month bills every week and 6- and 12-month treasury bills every two weeks on behalf of the Finance Ministry.
