Minister of Culture Nebojsa Bradic and Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia Alexander Konuzin announced the manifestation dubbed the Days of Russian Culture, which is to be held in Serbia from September 14-24 offering an opportunity to Serbia to get in touch with the Russian culture and representatives of Russian contemporary film.

At a press conference in the Serbian Ministry of Culture, Bradic stated that every meeting with the Russian culture is very emotional, and most of all it gives rise to the feelings of closeness, admiration for the success of the Russian artists and shared cultural and spiritual heritage

."The Russian and Serbian artists have always had good communication, and manifestations of the kind may only strengthen the relations and make space for new contacts," Bradic said. Konuzin recalled that the decision to organize these cultural manifestations in both countries was made by the presidents of Russia and Serbia at a meeting held in 2008.

He announced that next year, the days of the Serbian culture will be hold in Russia, adding that the two countries' cultural cooperation was raised to a high level in the last years.

However, Konuzin stated that he is not satisfied with the general level of bilateral cooperation which, as he puts it, is not as developed as it might be.

He stressed that the contacts in the humanitarian sphere and education are not good enough, adding that the number of the Serbian students attending Russian universities should be bigger.
