Serbia is getting ready to save on costs when printing money because the production of coins and the printing of bills is becoming ever more expensive.

According to data by the Serbian National Bank (NBS), most of the Serbian coins never make it back to the NBS for damaged coins to be replaced.

For now, only RSD 10 and 20 coins are worth more than their production costs, while all other coins are worth less than their production costs.

The NBS announced that Serbian coins would soon be made out of galvanized steel instead of copper.
